Edgar's Grandson, Jonathan has sent us some amazing photo's of him and of other people too, one of which you may recognise.
Edgar was part of Pocklington's ground crew, at least around 1944-45.
A story from Jon:
‘...a bomber came back and landed but unknown to everyone on board and on the ground, one bomb had failed to drop and was caught in the bomb doors, when we came up to the plane to check it over the bomb dropped to the ground, the crew in the plane wondered why everyone had ran away, and as they slowly got out of the plane and looked down they saw the bomb, well i have never seen a group of men run as quick as they did... to there luck the bomb didn’t go off’
Can you tell us who is in this photo??
We think this is taken outside one of the J type hangers that is still actually standing at Pocklington Airfiled.

Now, you are thinking.. this is the exact same photo that is on Graham Kembery's page showing the 102 Squadron Instrument Section 1944- 1946.. Except.. no it's not..
If you look closely at the man far left, on the middle row.. that's Edgar.. and look at his face smiling.. look at Graham's version of this.. and he isn't... which means there must have been a batch of these taken at the time.
OK, Jonathan was told that the man in the middle of the photo below (Second left above) was his grandfather Edgar. The problem is this man is a flyer, he has wings, so we don't think it's correct... but then why would Edgar keep the photo if he isn't in it??
Well this is obviously DY-E Eve, and it could be that all four of these photo's were taken at the same time, in which case Edgar was in the bottom two photo's.
We are trying to determine exactly who Edgar is wtih here, so far no luck. If you know this crew or anyone else in any of these photo's, please do let us know.
As we said, Edgar is fourth in from the right.
